With needle and thread,
Grandma started to sew.
Stitches close together,
the quilt began to grow.

A patch for great Grandma.
one for great Granddad.
Soon one for her and Pa,
to the quilt she would add.
Patches added for each new child,
Sarah, Rebekkah, Rachel and Paul.
John, and Joshua, and Adam,
Leah, and Michael, and Saul.
Grandchildren and great grandchildren,
were all soon added  too.
Grandma continued to keep sewing,
but she never was through.
Grandma kept right on
adding each new child's name.
And, the old family quilt,
still hangs on the frame.
