A cowboy's sidekick is always by his side,
Through all kinds of troubles, together they ride.
They weather the bad times and enjoy the good,
They'd take the other's burdens, if only they could.

There's times the trails are hard and they can be long,
And it often seems whatever can, is going to go wrong.
They ride along together and they reach that next hill,
They're sure they're going to make it, if it is God's will.

They thank the Lord for his blessings and thank him without fail,
And the Lord watches over them riding that ole dusty trail.
And the cowboy way, it ain't going out of style,
You can bet your boots and saddle, they'll be around for awhile.
